Treatment of Eye Diseases

Sight is one of the most valuable gifts of the god, among the 5 senses we have. However, this is also one of the most delicate and prone to degeneration, and diseases. Many of us don’t properly take care of this gift. They don’t even realize when their eyes got infected by some diseases. At Cedar Park Vision, we trace all types of diseases right at the onset. Nevertheless, we list here 5 most common eye diseases with a brief explanation.

  1. Cataracts: In this case, one can notice clouds over eye lens which may blur images. Unfortunately, the exact reason of this disease is still uncertain, but this problem generally occurs when we get older.
  2. CMV Retinitis: This disease generally affects those people who have weak immune systems. For example, people with HIV or AIDS may get easily affected by this disease.
  3. Diabetic Retinopathy: It is a common problem among diabetic patients. Researchers suggest that this is one of most common diseases among Americans, who are younger than age 6
  4. Glaucoma: This disease does not produce any pain or symptom until you loss your vision. Therefore, this is a very dangerous disease. One can mitigate its impact by regular check-up.
  5. Macular Degeneration: Smokers, overweight people, and those people who have family history of macular degeneration are prone to this disease. Women in particular have a greater risk.
